Innovative Technology from Blaupunkt

June 2008 -- Bosch subsidiary Blaupunkt is now providing Ford with different device versions for a specially designed car audio, navigation and infotainment program, including a powerful CD-SD navigation system. Its contemporary, functional design makes it a perfect addition to the vehicle cockpit. The new SD card navigation technology is based on easy, intuitive operation, high-speed route calculation and reliable turn-by-turn route guidance with visual and spoken turning recommendations.

Highlights:
· SD card technology: Rapidly calculated routes and reliable route guidance
· Functional design for easier operation
· Easy-to-read, high-resolution color display
· Dual tuner delivers excellent reception quality

The route calculation with the SD card included in the delivery is now considerably quicker than with the CDs used in older systems. But the new system also scores points with exceptional reception and sound performance as well as modern MP3 decoder technology and offers a wide range of other options to further enhance convenience.

Navigation made safe and easy
The CD-SD navigation system from Ford can be operated easily and conveniently directly on the front panel of the device or optionally from the steering wheel, using the integrated remote control. A self-explanatory menu structure makes operation particularly easy. Clearly identifiable arrows on a very large, easy-to-read 5-inch TFT color display and spoken recommendations provide for safe, stress-free navigation in road traffic. Warnings of traffic congestion are also indicated on the screen and are taken into consideration in route calculation. The navigation software offers such other useful information as lane recommendations and POIs (Points of Interest), including train stations, airports, parking lots, filling stations and service stations, along with restaurants, hotels, hospitals and popular tourist attractions.

Powerful audio system
With this integrated Blaupunkt device, Ford also delivers an audio system that meets even very discerning tastes, with a digital dual tuner for excellent reception, modern MP3 technology and numerous connection options as well as outstanding sound quality. The radio is equipped with 4 x 20 watts of music power, 60 station presets, speed-dependent volume control and an AUX input to connect additional devices – such as an additional MP3 player. In addition, the audio system is also able to play MP3 music files directly from a CD.

The new Ford Sound & Connect interface allows the convenient control of auxiliary sources – such as USB sticks or an iPod, or optional hands-free telephone operation via Bluetooth. And last but certainly not least, the connectivity box makes it possible to control the audio system, telephony and climate control via voice input to ensure particularly easy operation. Thus, this new device generation has been designed to accommodate and support changing user behavior.

With this integrated, highly compatible system, Ford offers innovative audio and navigation technology from Blaupunkt that is second to none in terms of reception and navigation performance and also features easy operation along with an attractive price.
