2007 Ford Crown Victoria
Simplified lineup includes Standard and LX trim levels
Ford Crown Victoria is a sedan for traditional large-car buyers who seek the features offered in the American cars they grew up with — roominess, comfort, smooth ride, V-8 power and rear-wheel-drive handling.
2007 Ford Crown Victoria
Size, safety and dependability remain hallmarks of the Crown Victoria, which continues to earn the government’s highest, five-star frontal crash rating for the driver and front passenger.
For 2007, Crown Victoria is offered in Standard and LX trim levels. New standard equipment includes an AM/FM audio system with a single-disc CD player, and remote keyless entry with SmartLock. A new Premium Sport Handling and Performance Package is available on LX models. Customers can also choose from an exterior color palette that has been freshened by the addition of two colors in the 2007 model year.
Crown Victoria is one of only a few large, rear-wheel-drive, V-8-powered passenger cars. It offers 106.4 cubic feet of passenger volume, and the trunk has 20.6 cubic feet of space. Besides generous helpings of power and space, the car provides an exemplary ride and notable passenger compartment isolation, thanks to its body-on-frame architecture.
Crown Victoria is built in St. Thomas, Ontario.
Design and Equipment
The Crown Victoria’s clean styling features wide door openings, large glass areas for good visibility, wraparound aerodynamic headlamps and standard remote-control power outside mirrors. The color-keyed bodyside moldings help protect against parking lot dings.
The new LX Premium Sport Handling and Performance Package includes revised springs, monotube shocks, a rear stabilizer bar, rear air suspension and a stainless steel dual exhaust. The package also has 17-inch, five-spoke aluminum wheels and a body-colored grille. Inside, the new LX Premium Sport Handling and Performance Package features a leather-covered floor shifter lever, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and driver-passenger bucket seats with adjustable lumbar.
Powertrain and Chassis
Crown Victoria is powered by a 4.6-liter, single-overhead-cam V-8 engine that develops 224 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 272 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm.
On the LX Premium Sport Handling and Performance Package, the free-flowing dual exhaust system increases engine output to 239 horsepower at 4,900 rpm and 287 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm.
All Crown Victoria models use an electronically controlled four-speed automatic overdrive transmission and electronic throttle control.
Safety and Security
Since 1996, Crown Victoria has earned the U.S. government’s highest, five-star crash-test rating for driver and passenger frontal crashes. Major contributors to Crown Victoria’s safety performance are a robust frame design, a large crumple zone and Ford Motor Company’s Personal Safety System®.
Seat-mounted side air bags for the front outboard seats are an available option.
Other safety features include Beltminder™, child safety locks on the rear doors, Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH), SmartLock and a glow-in-the-dark internal trunk release handle.
Laminated front side glass is available to provide extra security against smash-and-grab break-ins and thefts. It also reduces road and wind noise, improves protection from flying glass in a collision and filters out most of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, thus reducing heat buildup and interior fading.
