Mercedes-Benz Sales Up 11 Percent for the Month

November 1, 2007 -- MONTVALE, N.J. – Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported its strongest month of the year and its best October on record with sales of 22,820 new vehicles, an increase of 10.8 percent over last October (20,598). This brings MBUSA’s year-to-date sales to 203,085, a 2.8 percent increase over the same period in 2006 (197,599), setting an all-time record for the company.

Sales for the month of October were boosted by high consumer demand for the all-new 2008 C-Class which recorded a 102 percent increase over October 2006 (7,646 vs. 3,784). Behind the C-Class, the popular E-Class sedans and wagons recorded sales of 4,176. Strongest gains were made by the flagship CL-Class coupes which increased 224.5 percent (318 vs. 98). On a year-to-date basis, volume leaders among the car lines were the C-Class at 49,882, the E-Class at 38,360 and the S-Class at 21, 601

Within its luxury light truck lines – M-Class, R-Class, GL-Class and G-Class – Mercedes-Benz posted a combined 0.2 percent increase over last October (6,255 vs. 6,241) and a 10.9 percent increase over year-to-date 2006 (59,433 vs. 53,595).

Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned program, MBUSA sold 3,971 vehicles in October, an increase of 3.5 over October 2006, bringing the year-to-date total to 43,224 units, a 9.1 percent increase over year-to-date 2006.
