Land Rover North America Reports Record U.S. May Sales
IRVINE, Calif., June 1, 2006- Land Rover today reports record May sales totaling 3,981 vehicles sold for the month, up 39 percent from the same period last year. It was a record May for the Range Rover with 1,067 units sold, up 34 percent. Range Rover Sport monthly sales totaled 1,360 vehicles sold, and LR3 sales totaled 1,549 sold." Land Rover's performance is not something that has happened over night. It has taken us and our Land Rover retailers in the US a long time to get to this point," commented Pat Ward, vice president of Retail Operations for Land Rover North America. " We have launched some outstanding new models in recent months and our customers have recognized that the Land Rover brand continues to be the world's leading prestige SUV brand."
Year to date sales totaled 19,016 vehicles, up 32 percent from the previous year when 14,457 vehicles were sold. Range Rover Sport sales totaled 7,237 to date, and LR3 sales totaled 6,992 vehicles sold. Range Rover sales were up 13 percent with 4,758 vehicles sold to date.
