Isuzu Re-Ups Raytheon for Outsourced Learning Services
TROY, Mich., June 19, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company's subsidiary Raytheon Professional Services LLC (RPS) and Isuzu Motors America, Inc., have signed a contract for outsourced learning services. The contract extends a previous five-year contract between the two companies. Terms were not disclosed.Under the new contract, RPS will design, develop and deliver technical and fixed-operations training to Isuzu's service personnel at SUV dealerships throughout the United States. The training will be made available through Web- based simulation courses and highly interactive, hands-on workshops. RPS will also implement a certification program with Web-based assessments for fixed operations personnel.
"Isuzu views dealership training as an increasingly important lever for improving customer satisfaction and reducing costs," said Ken Schoffstoll, executive manager, Service Technical Department of Isuzu Motors America, Inc. "For more than half a decade, Raytheon Professional Services has demonstrated the best mix of flexibility and scalability to deliver on Isuzu's training and certification needs."
In recent years, Isuzu and RPS have worked together to introduce several enhancements to the learning experience of Isuzu's service personnel. These enhancements have improved technicians' accessibility to training material and decreased training costs for dealership owners. RPS converted all Isuzu CD- ROM-based training to a Web-based format, enabling technicians to access up- to-date information whenever needed. RPS also converted several hands-on workshops into Web-based simulations, reducing costs associated with technician travel and time away from dealerships. For the remaining hands-on workshops, RPS negotiated an agreement with General Motors (GM) to conduct Isuzu dealership training at 36 GM training facilities across the United States, bringing training closer to technicians.
"Isuzu and RPS began working together more than five years ago to introduce a blended approach to technician training," said Dave Letts, RPS general manager. "This contract extension highlights RPS's ability to perform over the long haul for clients like Isuzu with widely dispersed learner populations working in technically complex environments."
Isuzu Motors America, Inc., is the U.S. distributor of Isuzu sport utility vehicles, pickup trucks and diesel engines.
