First Great Wall Motors Showroom with New Logo in Middle East Opens

April 2008 -- Since there is a great potential of growth for passenger cars in the Middle East, Syria will become one of the important markets for Great Wall Motors (GWM) to develop in 2008.

SHAMMOUT Company is a big company based in Syria involved in automobile, steel and aviation etc. They have rich experience in automobile sales and have been selling South Korean, Japanese and American cars, such as Hyundai, KIA, Mazda and Chevrolet, etc. and then they began to pay attention to Chinese cars signing the sole distributor agreement for Syria market with Dongfeng Auto Company, distributing part of their products, such as the light truck and heavy truck. Although the cooperation between two parties is not long, both parties have been keeping a close relationship and the sales of GWM vehicles in the local market is good.

The showroom and after-sales service station were built in compliance with the new standards, greatly enhanced brand image of GWM in the local market. The show room is located along the highway of Damascus, the capital of Syria, where there is a high concentration of automobile showrooms in the area. The decoration is about to end and a grand open ceremony and launch of GWPeri are expected to be held on March 12.
