New Ford Mondeo Voted Best Value for Money

HARROGATE, YORKSHIRE, 24 October, 2007 – The new Ford Mondeo has beaten tough competition in the annual Northern Group of Motoring Writers (NGMW) awards to win the 'best value for money' prize. This latest recognition is one of numerous awards won by the new Ford Mondeo including honours from Auto Express, Caravan Club and Fifth Gear.

The NGMW "Best For T’Brass" award is given to the manufacturer for the best value car on sale today. The trophy – a genuine brass miner's lamp – is the top award presented by the Northern media group.

This latest honour for the Ford Mondeo was presented by Chairman of the Northern Group of Motoring Writers, Frederic Manby. He said: "Each car on our short list was judged not just on performance but on value to the customer. With its impressive list of standard features the new Mondeo came out on top."

The award ceremony took place at the group's annual dinner at the Swan Hotel, Harrogate, and was the 34th of its kind since the Northern Group of Motoring Writers was formed in 1973.
