Ford Awards Top Maker of "Cars for Stars" as Red Carpet Season Nears
* Krystal Enterprises of Brea, Calif. wins Ford’s Qualified Vehicle Modifier award as the top limousine and livery maker for the seventh straight year.

DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 30 – As Hollywood celebrities ready to hit the red carpet at this February’s award shows, Ford is announcing that Krystal Enterprises is once again the top volume limousine and livery Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM). Krystal Enterprises earned the award for the seventh consecutive time, a clean sweep since the prestigious program was conceived.

According to the National Limousine Association, the growing limo/livery industry has nearly 9,500 companies nationwide, operating approximately 131,600 vehicles from sedans to super-stretch SUVs and tour buses, and serving 1.38 billion passengers annually. There are an estimated additional 2,500 limo/livery operators around the world. The annual gross revenue for operators in the United States is $2.4 billion and the industry’s suppliers (i.e., vehicle modifiers) take in $2 billion in annual sales.
Ford dominates the limousine and livery business with more than 80 percent market share. Ford recently introduced a Mercury Mariner Hybrid livery package that is quickly becoming a popular choice for Hollywood awards’ shows, politicians and other environmentally minded influential customers. The Environmental Protection Agency rates Mariner Hybrid at 34 mpg in city driving and 30 on the highway.
