Retired Ford Motor Company Vice Chairman Wayne Booker Dies

DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 18 – The following statement is attributable to Bill Ford:

“Wayne Booker made major contributions to the success of Ford Motor Company over more than four decades of dedicated service. He was a driving force in establishing a strong Ford presence in newly developing growth markets around the world, particularly in Asia. His leadership, wise counsel and tireless efforts on our behalf were greatly appreciated by everyone who worked with him, and he will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.”

NOTE: W. Wayne Booker, who retired as Ford Motor Company vice chairman at the end of 2001, and is credited with expanding the company's growth in Asia, died Wednesday, Oct. 17 at his home in Barboursville, Virginia. He was 73.
