Additional SAE International Seminars Now Available Online

WARRENDALE, Pa., June 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SAE International now offers four additional engineering seminars online -- "Fundamentals of Automotive All-Wheel Drive Systems," "Fundamentals of Modern Vehicle Transmissions," "Controller Area Network for Vehicle Applications," and "Commercial Vehicle Braking Systems."

The online format allows individuals to access the courses via the Internet, and features synchronized slides and full-motion video of the instructor teaching. Upon completion of an online post-test, the learner earns an SAE certificate awarding CEUs. The online system also enables numerous employees from one organization to simultaneously access the seminar content through a site license.

"In addition to allowing many employees to easily benefit from the courses, the online format enables companies to provide consistent, readily available instruction," said Raymond A. Morris, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of SAE International. "Custom options are available to allow companies to supplement the online course content with their own collateral documents and company-specific data files for reference. It really provides the user with a convenient and flexible learning tool," added Morris.

The online seminars are part of SAE's e-Seminar product line, which includes nine seminars offered in CD-ROM format and three new titles pending release. Two other seminars are available online -- "Introduction to Brake Control Systems" and "A Familiarization of Drivetrain Components." SAE will eventually offer all of the CD-ROM e-seminars in the online format.
