Citroen Italy Sponsors New International Prize, C-Design
11/12/2007 -- Citroën Italy is sponsoring a new international award for creative ideas called C-Design. Participants in the competition must design objects for daily living using any of 100 parts that go into the mechanical components and body of Citroën vehicles (windscreen wipers, bumpers, handles, sunroofs, etc.).
Open to designers of all ages, C-Design is being conducted exclusively on the Internet in collaboration with the specialised portal www.aedo-to.com. Entrants can register individually or in groups and submit their ideas at the site until 15 January 2008. Designed for the home and everyday use, the objects must be both practical and attractive.
The jury is made up of prominent figures in the world of design and industry, including the architect Ferrucio Laviani, the director of Monitor, Anna Yudina, the director of Design Miami, Ambra Medda, the head of the Citroën Design Centre, Jean-Pierre Ploué, design historian and critic Alberto Bassi, the director of the aedo-to.com site, Virginio Briatore, and the director of Auto & Design, Fulvio Cinti. This jury will evaluate the projects submitted and choose the winners.
A total of €20,000 in prize money will be divided among the top three contestants, with a first prize of €10,000 and second and third prizes of €6 000 and €4 000.
