Chevrolet, Macy's Team up to Announce "Chicago Women of the Year" Competition with Hall of Fame Defensive Tackle Dan Hampton

2008-01-22 -- WHAT: A press event will be held at Macy’s on State Street in Chicago to kick off the nomination process for a landmark “Chicago Women of the Year” program developed by Chevrolet. Chicago Bears Hall of Fame defensive tackle Dan Hampton will cast the first nomination during the event at Macy’s which will begin at 9AM on Thursday, January 24th.

Through March 10, Chicagoland residents will have the opportunity to nominate a special woman that has made an important impact in their life or the lives of others. Entry forms can be completed online at chicagoWOY.com. For every nomination made on chicagoWOY.com, Chevrolet will make a donation to the woman’s charity of choice. On March 10, all nominations will be read by a panel of judges, and finalists will be selected. The stories of the finalists will be posted to the web site for public voting. Once all votes are calculated, a winner will be announced and presented with a $5,000 Macy’s shopping spree.

9:00 a.m. Presentation begins with Jennifer Costabile, Chevrolet
9:15 a.m. Dan Hampton casts his nomination

Note: Buffet breakfast will be available for attending media.

WHERE: Macy’s State Street, 111 North State Street, Chicago; The event will take place by the Chevy Malibu in-store display at the Washington/Wabash corner of the store. Everyone attending must enter the store through the doors on Washington near Wabash. Complimentary valet parking will be available at this entrance.
