October 15, 2007, FRANKFURT, GERMANY -- Delphi announces today at Equip Auto the expansion of the Delphi Service Centre to include DieselPoint for the independent aftermarket. While the Delphi Service Centre provides garages with air conditioning, chassis and petrol engine management programmes, the addition of DieselPoint now gives garages the training, technology and support needed in order to be able to take advantage of the large service opportunity arising from the growing diesel market.

"This rise in the global diesel vehicle parc is driven by the fact diesel engines offer greater performance and increased fuel economy," said Mike Rayne, vice president, global Delphi Diesel Aftermarket. "With the European diesel vehicle parc now reaching 56 million diesel engines and diesel penetration forecasted to exceed 57%, the time is right to open the door to general service specialists to provide accurate diagnosis, repair and replacement of diesel engine management systems."

Delphi has a strong installed OE diesel base, which includes Ford, Renault, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Jaguar, Land Rover, Hyundai, Suzuki, Ssangyong and Kia.

DieselPoint has been designed to offer a structured and comprehensive solution, providing garages with an opportunity to enter this rapidly expanding market. The DieselPoint package includes: all-makes diesel diagnostic equipment covering all modern light duty diesel injection systems, training, removal/refit tools, marketing support, qualified technical support, OE diesel products, and electronic cataloguing.

Diesel Point garages will be fully supported by Delphi's established "Diesel Service" network that will deliver extensive technical support, marketing and access to diesel products.
