03/12/2008, Hanover -- Continental has taken the logical next step in expanding its range of summer passenger tires. Its top ContiSportContact 3 model is now available in a total of 138 sizes. With short braking distances, good cornering and low rolling resistance for vehicles in the standard-size category and higher, the ContiPremiumContact 2 comes in an impressive 111 sizes. And with the ContiEcoContact 3 the leading German tiremaker leaves nothing to be desired either when it comes to equipping subcompacts and compacts.

The world’s fastest mass-produced tire, the ContiSportContact Vmax is approved for speeds of up to 360 km/h. It is available in the appropriate sizes for all the respective sports cars.

ContiSportContact 3

In developing the ContiSportContact 3, Continental had manufacturers and drivers of sporty cars in mind. Ultra-short braking distances, excellent handling features and high dependability on wet roads are thus the chief characteristics of the high-tech tire. Continental carries an additional tread pattern variant for powerfully engined rear-wheel-drive sports cars and still another tread version for tuning requirements.

The high-tech sports tire from Continental has received original equipment releases from many big-name carmakers. Volkswagen has just started equipping its series Passat CC with the self-sealing variant based on ContiSeal technology. Other vehicle manufacturers offer SSR-run-flat variants as standard tires on wide sections of their model lines.

Thanks to its exceptional tread design, the ContiPremiumContact 2 sets standards for braking on dry and wet roads. The tread's unique feature is a 3D groove with flat and steep flanks. They give tread blocks the extra stability needed when the vehicle has to suddenly circumvent a risk or in other critical situations. The tire is also one of the industry’s premium products in terms of aquaplaning response, steering precision, driving stability and rolling noise. Thanks to its low rolling resistance, as well, the tire is equally successful and popular as original equipment and for replacement needs.

The ContiEcoContact 3 for Compacts

The ContiEcoContact 3 offers short braking distances on dry and wet roads, low rolling resistance and good mileage. In this regard the tire sets standards for safety and economy. The ContiEcoContact 3 is a guaranteed fuel-efficient retrofitting option for virtually all compacts. The vehicle industry has already issued numerous releases.

The ContiSportContact Vmax – approved for speeds of up to 360 km/h

Thanks to multiple tread grooves, which have a cooling effect even at elevated speeds, and a handling-enhancing tread depth of 6.3 to 7 millimeters, the ContiSportContact Vmax ensures reliably safe driving properties at speeds of up to 360 km/h. The high percentage of sea in the tread, moreover, guarantees good water dispersion in the wet. The asymmetric ContiSportContact Vmax is the only road tire worldwide to be approved for speeds up to 360 km/h. In controlled record trials, the high-tech tire from Hanover has already attained speeds as high as 393 km/h.
