Vehicles Licensed In Great Britain during 2005
London, 23 March/GNN/ -- DEPARTMENT FOR TRANSPORT News Release (TR-005 (026)) issued by The Government News Network on 23 March 2006. The Department for Transport today published National Statistics of on the stock of licensed vehicles in Great Britain in 2005.-The total number of motor vehicles licensed at the end of 2005 was 2.0% higher than at the end of 2004.
-Key results for the change in the stock of licensed vehicles between end of 2004 and 2005 include:
-The number of car licences increased by 1.8 per cent;
-The number of company cars licensed increased by nearly 6.1 per cent;
-The number of light goods vehicles licensed increased by 4.3 per cent;
-The number of motor cycles, scooters and mopeds licensed increased by 1.3 per cent.
-The number of Goods vehicles licensed decreased by 2.6% which was the only category where licensed stock fell during 2005.
