Michelin Acknowledged for Its Performance and Responsibility Approach
Michelin's 2005-2006 Performance and Responsibility report has received the 2007 Best Sustainable Development Report Award
02/04/2008 -- The Jury of the Eighth Edition of the Conseil Supérieur de l’Ordre des Experts-Comptables Awards (French national Chartered Accountants Board and the French most competent authority on this subject) unanimously designated Michelin, out of 50 candidates, as the 2007 Best Sustainable Development Report Award winner.
This award, placed under the High Patronage of the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development, was handed to Mr. Jacques Toraille, the Group’s Performance and Responsibility approach manager, before several members of the Michelin team.
Michelin was rewarded for its “wilful, innovative and long-term commitment to sustainable development, an approach which this trophy lauds as exemplary.”
Selection criteria bore on both the report’s content and the qualitative characteristics of the information included and were based on eight fundamental principles: relevance, reliability, clarity, comparison, appropriateness, exhaustiveness, certification and overall impression.
Acknowledgement by a professional and rigorous organization is a strong message of encouragement for the Group to pursue this approach and its communications operations.
