Continental Counting the Days Till the UEFA EURO 2008
Official sponsor holds ticket drawings for football fans
Hanover, December 13, 2007 – Remember? A colorful sea of international flags, millions of spellbound fans staring at huge screens, people dancing in the streets. Germany – a summer fairy tale. The 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ was a rousing football festival. The UEFA EURO 2008™ is now approaching.
From June 7 to 29, 2008, 16 national teams will be going for the coveted cup in Austria and Switzerland. The groups have just been drawn for the finals, and the official match ball has also been introduced. The "Europass" should make for as many goals as possible. Its ambiguous name stands for the European passport as well as the passes on the field.
Like during the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, Continental with its Tire divisions is in the midst of activities as official sponsor of the UEFA EURO 2008™. The international automotive supplier will be present at all fan miles in the cities where matches are held, in addition to banner and logo advertising on the playing field. "Many of our employees are real football enthusiasts," says Michael Kohl, head of Marketing for the Passenger Tire Replacement Business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as project manager for the UEFA EURO 2008™. "We can thus put this highly enjoyable activity to use as a successful medium for dialog with our business partners, experiencing football together. That brings us together."
Continental has been allocated a considerable number of tickets for the most important football event of the coming year. Not only key customers and business partners profit from the tickets, but also all football fans who can, for instance, win tickets on the online game platform www.ContiFanWorld.com. The games on the site change on a regular basis. Here, as many as four players can play against each other in online football matches in real time. At www.ContiSoccerWorld.de, football fans can find exclusive information and background reports about stars, teams, trainers, the UEFA EURO 2008™ and the qualification matches as well as all of the premium tire manufacturer's football activities. Visitors to key trade fairs such as the Geneva Motor Show can also win tickets or meet prominent football experts at Continental's booths.
Of course, Continental and all football fans are already counting the days until the start of the UEFA EURO 2008™. There is a 4.50 meter high, three-ton Continental countdown clock at the St.-Jakob-Park Stadium in Basle, where the opening match and five other matches of the 31 cup matches will be held. It lets fans and passersby know how many days until the UEFA EURO 2008™ gets started in a super summer with top-notch football matches.
