The company presents its sixth Sustainable Value Report at the IAA in Frankfurt

09/11/2007 -- Munich/Frankfurt. In its sixth Sustainable Value Report published today, the BMW Group details how the company puts corporate sustainability into practice. The focus of the new report is on climate protection and the reduction of CO2 emissions. Further topics include innovative environmentally-friendly production methods and sustainability management within the BMW Group. Information on human resources policies and the company's social activities illustrates how the BMW Group's commitment actively defines the general framework.

For the report more than 200 of the BMW Group's stakeholders around the world were surveyed as to their concerns and their assessment of the company's commitment to sustainability. The focus of the new Sustainable Value Report 2007/2008 and the topics covered are derived directly from the results of this survey.

The BMW Group's Sustainable Value Report consistently follows the established international guidelines for sustainability reports set out by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The report is available in German and English; with French, Italian, Chinese and Japanese versions to follow by November. The report is available online at www.bmwgroup.com/sustainability.

The BMW Group regularly receives recognition for corporate sustainability from external sources. For instance, in early September the BMW Group was named branch leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the third consecutive year. The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is the leading global sustainability index. The BMW Group also heads the Climate Leadership Index of the Carbon Disclosure Project.

The BMW Group believes that sustainability throughout the value added chain, extensive product responsibility and a clear commitment to saving resources are an integral part of the company's success.
