Germany's ZF Is Recruiting Engineers

Tagged:  •

08.10.2007 -- ZF is one of Germany's top-25 employers for engineers. Nevertheless, the company needs more qualified employees – primarily engineers specializing in research & development, production and assembly. New personnel are required to meet the growing demand for advanced technologies.

Working for ZF is more than a job. As an automotive industry supplier, ZF serves the leading car manufacturers in Germany and Europe. The company offers employees a wide variety of opportunities and job diversity at ZF sites worldwide. "We work for virtually all of the major automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturers. The scope of our engineering projects ranges from sports cars and sedans, to trucks, buses, agricultural and construction machinery," says Dr. Stefan Kilian, who has been working as a design engineer since 2001 in the ZF Hybrid Drive Pre-development department. The fact that ZF customers come from many different industries is not the only thing that makes his work exciting. The company's strategy focuses on technological leadership. "Most of the innovations and advanced technical developments come from suppliers like ZF," Dr. Kilian adds.

Designing the future

Moving forward with its leadership strategy, ZF is hiring 150 new engineers this year and plans to add another 100 positions in 2008. The company is primarily looking for engineers who specialize in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical and vehicle engineering. The demand to lower CO2 emissions has led to a sharp increase in requests and orders for hybrid drive technology. This gives ZF an excellent opportunity to strengthen its position as a hybrid technology supplier in the automotive industry. For ZF employees, it offers the chance to invest their skills and dedication into the future of mobility.

Professional and family oriented

Not only the technical challenges make ZF one of the 25 most popular employers in Germany. A survey conducted by the Trendence Institute among 15,000 pre-graduates in engineering technology and economics programs at 107 universities indicated that ZF offers a positive working atmosphere and supports personal responsibility on the job. Along with a variety of training programs and career opportunities in Germany and other countries, ZF offers secure, family-friendly jobs. The idea of supporting compatibility between job and family is firmly anchored in the corporate strategy. ZF is continuing to expand its daycare and babysitter locating services as well as its programs to reintegrate employees returning from parental leave. It's no coincidence that the average seniority for ZF workers increased to 15.7 years in 2006. At the same time, the number of ZF employees worldwide has remained steady at 55,000 for the past several years.
