Aisin AI Celebrates the Completion of New Plant for FWD MTs
Jan. 16, 2008 -- Aisin AI Co., Ltd. (President: Masahiro Suo; Headquarters: Nishio, Aichi) celebrated the completion of the Kira Plant, its new manufacturing base for manual transmissions built in Kira-cho, Hazu, in Aichi prefecture.
Aisin AI has built the Kira Plant in order to respond to the accelerating demand from vehicle manufacturers worldwide for its manual transmission products. The Kira Plant is the second manufacturing base of manual transmissions for Aisin AI after its first Head Quarter Plant, and it will be exclusively handling the manufacturing of manual transmissions for FWD vehicles of low and middle torque capacities. By the completion of the Kira Plant, Aisin AI’s manual transmission production capability is expected to increase by 50%.
The new plant has taken measures to consider environmental issues for neighboring residents and surrounding nature. For example, truck lanes are placed inside the plant building in order to deter lightings at night and loading and unloading noises to reach the local residents. Also, the plant has improved the rate of recycling wastewaters for use as the necessary water supply in the plant, and is installed with solar panels for generating extra electricity, in order to conserve natural resources.
Together with the improvements of its production system for further efficiency, Aisin AI will continue to take its utmost efforts to contribute to its local communities.
