Johnson Controls was scored on the same eight key areas of leadership as in 2007 including: Innovation, People Management, Use of Corporate Assets, Social Responsibility, Quality of Management, Financial Soundness, Long-Term Investment, and Quality of Products/Services.
"It is an honor to be recognized by Fortune for the second year in a row with this most prestigious honor," said John Barth, Chairman and CEO, Johnson Controls. "We remain singularly-focused on bringing our customers advanced global marketplace solutions that contribute to their ongoing success."
According to Hay Group, which has conducted the research for The World's Most Admired Companies list since 1997 and for America's Most Admired since 2001, the Most Admired list is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. To create the 63 industry lists, Hay asked more than three thousand executives, directors, and analysts to rate companies in their own industry on eight criteria, mentioned above. Only the best are listed as most admired: A company's score must rank in the top half of its industry survey.
