Delphi Launches Two New Air Conditioning Service Tools at Equip'Auto

October 15, 2007, FRANKFURT, GERMANY -- To provide its aftermarket customers with an increasingly comprehensive range of replacement air conditioning (A/C) parts and service tools, Delphi is launching two new A/C flushing machines at Equip Auto. The Delphi AT41560 and AT41568 are solvent based cleaning stations designed for the maintenance and cleaning of A/C systems on cars, as well as high capacity A/C systems found on buses and coaches.

"To avoid costly repairs to air conditioning compressors, it is essential that systems are properly maintained and free from contamination," explains Giuseppe Del Duca, air conditioning business line manager for Delphi Product & Service Solutions in Europe. "The introduction of these two new tools demonstrates our commitment to provide our aftermarket customers with a comprehensive range of tools and replacement parts .This strengthens our position and helps ensure that our customers can take advantage of this essential and profitable service opportunity."

In addition to being capable of servicing Delphi A/C systems used by a growing number of vehicle manufacturers including Ferrari and Renault, the new tools give users the ability to flush and clean all other A/C systems using a universal cone attachment. The tools work with compressed air which is used to circulate the solvent through the A/C system and remove any debris which may have entered it. A sight glass is provided so users can check the cleanliness of the solvent, which determines how long they need to continue flushing the system.

Once users are satisfied that all contaminated parts have been removed, the unit's additional nitrogen circuit is used to purge the solvent and any remaining moisture from the system. The nitrogen system can also be used to check for possible leaks in the refrigerant circuit.

To ensure that A/C systems continue to operate at their optimum performance, Delphi recommends that they are flushed whenever a system component is changed.

Additionally, Delphi offers a full range of tools for the repair and maintenance of A/C systems including leak detection systems such as dye injection and UV lamp, thermometers, pag and ester oil for A/C compressors, gas analysers, anti-bacterial treatments, air sanitizers and a range of service stations for refrigerant charging / discharging, gas recovery and reclaim.
