2008 Beijing Auto Show Is Geely’s Strategic Point of Blow-up

Audience claims 5 out-of-expectations

May 16, 2008 -- 2008 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition kicks off at the enlarged China International Exhibition Center on April 20. Ground shaking series of cars debuted by Geely Auto are real eye catchers at the Show. Five “out-of-expectations” constitute the most unanimous judgment that the audience have come to during the exhibition this year.

The first out of expectation is Geely Booth. On this year’s Beijing Auto Show, Geely booth meets international standards for the first time, and initially connects the balcony popular in international booth with the press release hall. The public and guests feels it incredible that the booth designed by a China private automotive enterprise can be so globalized. As stated by a spectator, Geely booth has changed the “short leg” image of booth designed by China national brands.

The second aspect that goes beyond expectation is car researched and developed by Geely. On this year’s Auto Show, Geely has unveiled 23 new models. It can be said that this is unprecedented in Geely history of auto show. There are GT concept that manifests Geely brand-new concept in car making and meeting the tide of future car designing internationally and LTI concept, totally motor-driven car, Geely Prospect loaded with Geely NGV dual-fuel power technology, electric equal balance car introducing electrical energy system, MPV and racing car. If not the logo, it shall be difficult for the public to relate these models with Geely. An oversea Geely distributor who is invited to participate in the Show indicates that he has sold Geely cars for 5 years. He has been optimistic with Geely’s future. To him, so many new Geely models debuted at this year’s Beijing Show is the biggest return his support and services for Geely in the 5 years. To some degree, he thinks, this is a “surprise”!

Geely technology is the third aspect that exceeds people’s expectation. As a prelude that unveils Geely competition on this year’s Beijing Auto Show, the dialogue on “Blowout Safety Control and Life Protection” was held on April 19, one day prior to kickoff of the Show. Experts, journalists, network user representatives and high-speed blowout victims from all walks of life witnessed Geely Blow-Out Monitoring and Brake System (BMBS in short) personally on the site, feeling onsite the magic and glamour of world leading China automotive safety control technology at the moment when Geely Prospect equipped with BMBS technology blows out suddenly during high speeding driving. BMBS technology shocked the audience at the site. In addition to BMBS, Geely also brings car adopting electric equal balance technology and a number of new energy models to the Show. Technology and car models that Geely researched and developed keeping to 3 core concepts of safety, energy saving and environment protection becomes the most exciting technical highlight on this year’s Beijing Auto Show.

The fourth out-of-expectation attributes to popularity of Geely booth. Outside the exhibition center every day are plenty of visitors exchanging their feelings on the Show. A visitor from Miyun County says to his friend on the phone: “The Show is really spectacular. Today’s national brands are much more attractive than the past. Tomorrow when you come, make sure to have a good look at Geely cars. So in the future you may have excellent references if you guys want to buy one.” According to incomplete statistics, efficient visiting ratio of Geely booth can arrive at 0.8 (a ratio of visitors to total people entering the exhibition site).

The last that surprises the public is foreign visitors’ extensive interest in Geely. There is an amazing fact on this year’s Beijing Auto Show. Foreign friends from countries like German, France, South Korean and Japan are all the way asking way to Geely booth or accompanied by friends to pay special visit to Geely booth and then enter Geely’s press release hall to negotiate matters in cooperation or in acting as agent of Geely products. As a result, Geely’s press release hall is nicknamed as “small UN trade negotiation meeting”. Geely’s distributor in Nigeria even brings a group of local journalists to “question” Geely cars on the Show in all aspects. Iran ambassador also comes to visit Geely visitor. Surprised at Geely growth at such a speed, he claims that he feels delighted at so many outstanding Geely models and that he hopes these superior Geely products can appear in Iran streets.
